Privacy

A short privacy policy, in plain language.

AWARE monitors public school board records. It does not monitor children, families, or classrooms.

Last updated October 21, 2026. This policy covers m4laware.org and the AWARE alert program.

What we collect

  • Contact details you submit, such as your name, email address, and chapter.
  • Basic technical data from visits to this site, such as pages viewed, browser type, and approximate region.
  • Records of which alerts were sent to which chapter, so the program can be audited.

What we do not collect

  • Student records, grades, discipline files, or health information.
  • Private accounts, closed-session materials, or anything a district has not published.
  • Precise location data from your device.

Public records

Agendas, attachments, and meeting notices are public documents. When AWARE links to them, the link goes to the district’s own publication. We keep copies of the relevant page and item number so an alert can be checked after a district changes its site.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies to keep you signed in and to measure aggregate traffic. Analytics are used to understand which pages are read, not to build profiles of individual parents. You can block cookies in your browser; the site will still work.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Contact details are shared with the chapter you join and with service providers who operate email and hosting for the program. We may disclose information when required by law.

Retention and your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the contact information we hold about you. You can unsubscribe from alerts at any time using the link in every message. Records of public agenda items are retained as part of the program’s public record.
